IS YOUR SMARTPHONE SAFE?-FIND OUT NOW

Just like computers, smartphones also have a lot of security-related issues.  There have been many virus attacks on Android related devices over the past years. There is the perception that Apple’s Ios is more secure than Android Smartphones. But don’t forget that every Smartphone is subject to the same threat.
A report from Sophos Lab in September 2017 claims that more than 30 percent of Ransomware was detected on the Android platform. Due to this, about 10 million Android apps were put into the category of suspicious.
Now that mobile malware is increasing rapidly, there is the need for users to keep their smartphones safe.  In this article, I have put together six steps or ways that you can follow in order to keep your Smartphone safe. Below are the six easiest steps:

#Keep Your Phone Lock: Locking your phone does not only protect the device but it also prevent unauthorized people from accessing some required data from your phone. Some years ago it seemed a bit difficult to lock your device, but now due to the introduction of fingerprint sensor and face unlock technology; it is now easier to keep your device safe and you can also put the pin lock on the phone even after you restart it.

#Keep Operating System Updated:  Some Android Smartphone users normally don’t update their operating system and I don’t recommend it as a good habit. The most common operating system on Android is the only 28.5 percent market share of Naugat 7 by February 2018. Due to this, Apple users have a slight better case over that of Android users because the latest version of iOS is the market share of 11.2 which is 70 percent.
There is an overwhelming problem where most of Android users complain of not getting latest updates of their handset, and due to this, their device can easily be infected with viruses. In case you are a victim of this disaster, then you have to contact your manufacturer or customer care center for help or better still buy a new device which have updates available

#Avoid buying unsecured brands:  There are some phones or brands which are not considered as being secured in case of data security; these phones you should desist from purchasing them. On the other hand, Google pixels, Apple iPhone, etc are phones that give you system updates on time.

#Encryption: There is one feature in Smartphones that most smartphones users have no idea of its importance to them, and that is Device Encryption. Our device contains some important data such as email, contacts, and financial apps and so on and so there is the need to our keep encrypting our device so that people will not get their hands on this information in case the phone get lost or is stolen. When this is done, if someone else gets their hands on the phone, our data will be safe.

#Scans for viruses: Virus attacks on mobile devices come easily nowadays and so to avoid being a victim, it is advisable to keep scanning your device regularly for viruses. Also in Google Play store, the virus has come to apples and so there is the need scan any app before downloading it from any source.

#Do not jailbreak the phone: Most iPhone users often jailbreak their devices and due to this, their device is open to virus attacks and other threats. Also some Android users root their devices and this also exposes their phone to threats. So there is the need for Smartphone users to avoid jail breaking and rooting their phones as this is not safe.

Cherished Readers, this all for today and we will keep updating you from time to time on how to keep your device safe from attackers and other Smartphone threats.
